Modern God - Seattle Universitiy's St. Ignatius
Completed in 1997, the Chapel of St. Ignatius at Seattle University is proof that God is in the details. The chapel was designed by architect Steven Holl and features both aspects of Catholic worship and the latest green building philosophies. There are seven separate areas of the building through which light passes defining physical and spiritual spaces with pools of clear and colored light. Seattle U has been engaged in many and diverse sustainability initiatives over the last two decades so it is no surprise that forward-thinking faith and innovative design continue to inspire students, faculty, staff, and visitors to this progressive Jesuit campus.
