Help Transcribe Hawaiian History

A groundbreaking new project in Hawaii is bringing the past alive, literally. Ike Kū‘oko‘a — Liberating Knowledge is a project to digitize Hawaiian newspapers printed between 1834 to 1948 by asking all of us to help transcribe 60,000 scanned pages so that they an be searchable and translated more easily. Call it 'Citizen Social Science'. If your have a computer and can type, you're the perfect volunteer. Have some time on your hands, why not spend it transcribing a page or two - or more - for the project. In doing so, you accomplish two things you help revive history by making these newspapers available to the public and you make history by participating in such a large volunteer project.
