Biochemist | Antonio E. Serrano


Antonio E. Serrano is a Chilean biochemist. Serrano received his BS in Medical Technology in 2001 and his PhD in Biochemistry in 2010, both from the Universidad de Chile. Serrano served as a teacher, lecturer, and researcher on multiple projects before his current position as postdoctoral researcher at the Universidad Catolica del Norte working in microbial nanobiotechnology.

Serrano is also Founder and President of Haimaitier Institute in Copiapó, Chile, a nonprofit research and development institute focused on the high-desert Atacama region and its distinct nature and culture.

When not doing research or running the nonprofit, Serrano can also be found on stage playing rhythm guitar and singing vocals for Morphonica.
